Mijas

December 2018

 –

June 2020

While we were still living in Singapore, we bought a house in the hills of Mijas, not far from Málaga in southern Spain in early January 2019. With help of local builders and a local building surveyor, we thoroughly renovated the house between August 2019 and the summer of 2020, before finally moving in in July 2020, after some delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic which was quite severe in Spain during the first wave in the spring and early summer of 2020.

How we first saw the house
Not bad, but room for improvements.
First thing to create: closet space.
Have a look at the head board. Interesting!
Built in 1997, extended in 2005. Not much happened after that.
Oasis
Farmer next door has good taste in cars.
Relaxing after bidding on the house.

First glance into the old water reservoir. Nice space for a studio!
Preparing for a 7 meter wide window.
Too bad they had to start over. Wrong measurements.
Some things just didn't make any sense....
